BOLO: Stranger Abduction Resulting in Two Sexual
Assault/Rape Investigations
Delaware State Police Troop 2 is investigating a stranger abduction case which resulted in two
sexual assault/rape investigations. On Wednesday, 06/02/10 at approximately 1145 hours, a 27
year-old female was abducted at gunpoint while sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of the
First State Surgery Center located at 1000 Twin C Lane, Newark, Delaware. The victim was
forced to drive the suspect in her 1995 black Nissan around parts of Newark, DE, Cecil County,
MD, Avondale, PA, Hockessin, DE, and ultimately, returned to the Newark area. The victim
drove the suspect to the west side parking lot of the Christina Mall when the suspect sexually
assaulted her for the first time. The suspect instructed the victim to leave that area where they
then drove through the parking lot of the Boscov’s Department Store on Rt. 273. The suspect then demanded the victim to withdraw money from a drive-up ATM at the WSFS Bank,
University Plaza Shopping Center, Newark, DE. The suspect then instructed the victim to drive
to a remote area of the parking lot at the Corporate Center at Christiana on N. Wakefield Drive
just south of Chapman Road, Christiana, DE. The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim at
this location. The suspect instructed the victim to drive away from this location but only to
return a short time later. On the second visit to this location, the suspect escorted the victim from
her vehicle to a baseball field located remotely to the rear of the facility where he then raped the
victim. The victim eventually returned to the area of the initial abduction where she was finally
released after approximately a five hour ordeal. The suspect retained the victim’s driver’s license
advising her that he knew her name, address, and place of employment. The suspect is described
as a white male, late 30’s to early 40’s, 5’ 08”, 180-200 lbs, with a medium build, hazel eyes, a
thick brown mustache, short brown and scruffy facial hair. He has a fair complexion, brown hair
down to the base of the neck, and was last seen wearing a dark colored baseball cap, black
Oakley sunglasses, a navy blue Nautica t-shirt, faded black sweatpants with a one inch bleach
stain on the right knee, khaki shorts, and white Nike sneakers with a white Nike swoosh outlined
in dark blue. The suspect vehicle was possibly an older model, dull colored black Chevy pickup
truck similar to that of a Chevy Silverado. A computer composite sketch, shown below, was
completed.
On Saturday, 06/05/10 at approximately 0845 hours, a 22 year-old female was abducted at
gunpoint while sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot of Sallie Mae, located at 300 Continental
Drive, Newark, DE. This location is approximately one mile from the above-listed incident. In
this incident, the victim was forced to move to the right front passenger seat of her navy blue
2000 Chevy Blazer as the suspect occupied the driver’s seat. The suspect bound the victim’s
wrists with black zip ties, put on gloves, and drove the victim’s vehicle away from this location.
The suspect drove to a remote parking lot at the Corporate Center at Christiana on N. Wakefield
Drive and sexually assaulted the victim. The suspect drove to the parking lot of the University
Plaza Shopping Center, Newark, DE, in the area of the Acme and Burlington Coat Factory in an
attempt to rob a third party to no avail. The suspect then drove through the parking lot of the
Boscov’s Department Store on Rt. 273. The suspect eventually returned the victim to the
parking lot of the initial abduction where she was finally released after approximately 45
minutes. The suspect retained the victim’s driver’s license, advising her he knew her name,
address, and place of employment. The suspect is described as a white male, late 30’s to early
40’s, 5’ 06” to 5’ 07”, approximately 160 lbs, with an average build, brown mustache, short
brown and scruffy facial hair, collar length brown hair, with an average to fair complexion. He
was last seen wearing a fitted tan baseball cap worn backwards, wire rimmed sunglasses with a
tan/brown tint, a dark blue t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts, white ankle socks, white Nike sneakers
with a blue Nike swoosh, and black winter gloves. The victim reported seeing a black pickup
truck (NFD) parked behind her vehicle in the same direction from where the suspect approached
her from. The below computer composite sketch was completed. Any agency having additional
